CIVIL WAR ERA BRITISH TRANTER PATENT POCKET-SIZE PERCUSSION REVOLVER, CASED, .36 caliber, octagonal barrel and five-shot cylinder, each chamber numbered, frame engraved "BENTLEY, LIVERPOOL" to top and "PATENT No. 2325" to side, checkered wooden grips. Rosewood baize-lined fitted case retaining assorted accoutrements including rosewood cleaning rod, flask, and brass bullet mold. Lid bears a brass shield-form plaque with partially legible engraved presentation including what appears to be "F. B. ? Butts" and "May 10, 1861". Circa 1860. Revolver 9" LOA, 4 3/8" barrel; 12 1/2" x 7 1/2" case.
