CONTINENTAL CERAMIC FIGURAL ANTHROPOMORPHIC PIG HUMIDORS, LOT OF TWO, comprising a well-dressed grinning lady example wearing blue dress and necklace, holding a fan in right hoof, stamped "JM(symbol) / 3603" and a school boy example depicting a studious porker wearing pants, holding a book in right hand, and smoking a cigar, cover with sponge holder, possibly incised "BB" and numbers to underside. Johann Maresch (Austrian, 1821-1914), Austria or Czechoslovakia; Bernhard Bloch (Austrian, 1836-1909), Eichwald, Bohemia. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 8 1/4" HOA.

Condition

School boy having a minute flake to end of snout, to collar, and to sleeve, some minor flakes to bottom of one pants' leg, and some possible paint touch-ups; lady having some professional restoration including one ear and flower to top of head.
