CONTINENTAL CERAMIC FIGURAL HUMIDORS, LOT OF FOUR, each with a pipe, comprising a bust-form example depicting a gentleman wearing a leather apron with glasses perched to forehead and placing tobacco into a molded face pipe, one example featuring a chubby fellow sitting on a brick wall, and two examples sitting in a chair including one older man with a small dog resting in lap and one jolly bald gentleman. Marks to underside include impressed "JM", "C.S.", "BB", and various impressed numerals. Johann Maresch, Austria or Czechoslovakia; Bernard Bloch, Eichwald, Bohemia; and other. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 12" HOA.

Condition

Bust having a flake to top interior flange, some areas of restoration including hat brim, finger, with other paint touch-ups, and a possible loss to circular disk near pipe; man sitting on brick wall having repair and chip to pipe, scattered flakes to bottom rim, restoration to hat, and some scattered flaking paint; man with dog having a flake to top of each leg on bottom and restoration to pipe; most having scattered glaze wear/losses.
