CONTINENTAL CERAMIC FIGURAL HUMIDORS, LOT OF THREE, each depicting a gentleman with striking sideburns, comprising one example featuring a monocled man wearing a top hat and holding an open book to his chest, grasping an unopened umbrella in right hand, and having a binocular case slung across his shoulder, one example depicting a green besuited hunter holding a snuff box in right hand, his rifle to his back, having a sponge holder top, and inscribed signature to back of stump, and one grey-haired example wearing buckled shoes and having "Bat habt ihr hierzukucken" to front of base. Marks to underside include impressed and embossed "BB" and various embossed or impressed numerals. Together with a book by Horowitz, Figural Humidors, Mostly Victorian, Baltimore: FTJ Publications, 1997, signed by author. Four pieces total. Bernard Bloch, Eichwald, Bohemia; and other. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 12 1/8" HOA.

Condition

Monocled figure in excellent visual condition having some professional restoration; buckled shoe figure in excellent visual condition having possible paint touch-ups; hunter having some moderate glaze flakes to lower left on jacket, a moderate flake to bottom underside edge, a flake to underside of left boot, and some possible paint touch-ups; book having general wear with assorted small dot stickers applied to certain listings.
