CONTINENTAL CERAMIC FIGURAL HUMIDORS, LOT OF THREE, each depicting a rotund man standing on a base, comprising one example wearing lederhosen, holding a wicker-wrapped flask, and a sack on his back, one example with a small derby hat, a large flower to lapel, having a prominent waist chain, and sponge holder top, and one example with his right arm raised to his mustache and wearing a red, white, and blue sash, possibly French. Marks to underside include impressed statue with "SCHUTZ-MARKE / DEPONIERT / MADE IN GERMANY", "JM", and various numerals. Johann Marish, Austria or Czechoslovakia; Schutz-Marke, Germany; and other. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 11 1/4" HOA.

Condition

Lederhosen figure having loss of walking stick in left hand, restoration to top interior, a flake to shirt edge; figure with flower to lapel having bottom half filled with plaster of paris; figure with right arm raised having some imperfections including a flake to hat, a small loss to each end of mustache, restoration to goatee, complete reconstruction of left hand and possibly pipe, a minor chip, a large flake to interior bottom rim, and probable paint touch-ups.
