CONTINENTAL CERAMIC HUNTER FIGURAL HUMIDORS, LOT OF FOUR, comprising one bust example featuring a mustachioed gentleman with beads of sweat on forehead and holding a monocular telescope, one full-bodied sleeping figure with dog peeking out between stump and game birds attached to bag on side, and two head examples, each wearing a feathered hat and smoking a pipe, including one having sponge holder top. Marks to underside include "BU", "JM", and various numerals. Johann Maresch, Austria or Czechoslovakia; and others. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 11" HOA.
One head example undamaged; sleeping figure mostly undamaged, except having some minute scattered flakes; bust having some restoration to hat and feather with some minute flaking, minor flake to collar, and a flake to end of sleeve; green hat head example having a filled-in chip to base rim, feather probably reattached/restored, and some paint touch-ups; most having some scattered glaze wear/losses.
