EDGEFIELD DISTRICT, SOUTH CAROLINA STONEWARE JUG, alkaline-glazed with some runs, "2" gallon capacity mark, ovoid form with plain mouth, applied strap handle with medial groove and thumb-impressed lower terminal. Mid 19th century. 11 1/2" HOA.
Condition
Shoulder having some spots of glaze exfoliation and a 1 1/2" x 1" flake.
