ENGLISH GEORGIAN AND VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER MUGS AND MUSTARD POT, LOT OF THREE, comprising a Georgian mug with mark probably for Edward Edwards II of London and an 1827 date mark featuring ornate chased and repousse decoration having engraved "PPO" initials to side, a Victorian mug with illegible mark for a London maker and an 1843 date mark featuring engraved floral decoration and "P.P.O. / 6th. Jany. 1884" to side having patterned base, and a mustard pot by Mappin & Webb of Sheffield with 1884 date mark having reticulated sides and an interior cobalt blue glass liner, featuring engraved stag to top and "1885" date to side. Each with maker's mark and four hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a city mark, a date mark, and a King George IV or Queen Victoria duty mark. Total weight excluding glass liner: 14.885 ozt. 19th century. Chased and repousse mug 3 5/8" HOA, 3 1/2" H rim, 2 3/4" D rim.
Provenance: Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.

Condition

Good to very good overall condition with minor to moderate wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including dents, nicks, and/or worn spots to decoration; chased and repousse mug having damage/holes at terminal of stem with top of foot; glass liner with possible post-production polishing to rim.
