comprising a beaker / julep cup by C. Bard & Son, a set of four tablespoons by Lewis Quandale, a tablespoon probably by Jehu & W.L. Ward having a very worn mark, a teaspoon by Joseph Lownes, a pair of salt spoons with coffin handles by Fletcher & Gardiner who also worked in Boston, MA, and a pair of salt spoons with shell bowls by Hildeburn & Bros., most pieces with personalized engraving to handles. Each with maker's mark. Total weight: 13.030 ozt.
Late 18th/19th century.
Beaker/cup 3 1/2" H, 3" DOA rim.
Provenance: Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
Condition
Spoons in good to very good visual condition with some wear, surface scratches, residue/surface losses due to removed accession numbers, and other imperfections including bending, dents, nicks, and/or worn bowl tips; each Quandale tablespoon with repair to bowl; beaker/cup in fair condition with heavy denting, rim out of round, nicks, and a repair to side along seam.
