FINE AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) HISTORICAL REVOLUTIONARY WAR BATTLE SCENE WITH WASHINGTON AND LAFAYETTE, oil on canvas, in the manner of Frederick Kemmelmeyer (c.1733-1821), a dramatic, stylized depiction of General George Washington surrounded by officers, likely including the Marquis de Lafayette, bravely leading troops against a tight line of heavy enemy fire in a mountainous setting, no signature(s) located. Housed in a modern giltwood frame. Second quarter 19th century. 19 1/2" x 29 1/2" sight, 27" x 37" OA.

Excellent visual condition with minor scattered minor inpainting.
