FINE AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) HISTORICAL REVOLUTIONARY WAR BATTLE SCENE WITH WASHINGTON AND LAFAYETTE, oil on canvas, in the manner of Frederick Kemmelmeyer (c.1733-1821), a dramatic, stylized depiction of General George Washington surrounded by officers, likely including the Marquis de Lafayette, on a bluff behind his artillery lines overlooking a battle below, no signature located. Housed in a modern giltwood frame. Second quarter 19th century. 17 1/2" x 28 1/2" sight, 25 1/2" x 36 1/2" OA.
Excellent overall visual condition with minor scattered inpainting.
