FREE-BLOWN COVERED COMPOTE, colorless, large spherical bowl with the cover having an applied finial, base with applied baluster-form standard and large circular foot. Probably New England. 1840-1860. 13 1/2" HOA, 10 1/4" D rim, 6 3/8" D foot.
Provenance: From the Peter H. Tillou estate, Litchfield, CT.
Undamaged with some scattered wear. Finial having a slight underfill at the top, as made.
