FRENCH BISQUE FASHION DOLL, unmarked, two-piece constructed shoulder plate type head, painted facial features including fixed blue glass eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes and pink closed mouth with rosy cheeks, stuffed kid-leather body with joints at shoulders, later bisque lower arms and hands, head with cork pate and blonde mohair. Vintage clothing including a green and white striped silk dress with lace trim and similar matching hat and muff, period undergarments, ecru socks and later shoes. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 14 3/4" H.
Good overall condition, gluing to the neck at two-part joint and to one eye, each eye with roughness. Dress with significant deterioration, expected wear to remaining attire items.
Deaccessioned by the Wachovia Historical Society to benefit acquisitions and conservation funds.
