GERMAN METTLACH CERAMIC STEINS, LOT OF TWO, mold numbers 2388 and 2936, each having ceramic inset lids and metal thumbrests, 1/2 liter size, comprising one character example in the form of a stack of pretzels with pretzel-form handle and one featuring polychrome hand-painted etched Elk's Club emblem. Marks to underside include impressed abbey with "METTLACH / VB", "GES. GESCH.", and additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century. 9 1/8" HOA.
