GERMAN METTLACH MUSIC MOTIF CERAMIC STEINS, LOT OF TWO, mold numbers 1527 and 1946, each having etched sides with polychrome hand-painted decorations, ceramic inset lids, and metal thumbrests, 1/2 liter size, comprising one depicting a woman being serenaded by a man playing a lyre and one featuring four men drinking with a musician playing a lyre. Marks to underside include impressed abbey with "METTLACH / VB", "GEGEN NACHBILDUNG / GESCHUTZT", and additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century. 8 7/8" HOA.
