GERMAN METTLACH DANCING MOTIF CERAMIC STEINS, LOT OF TWO, mold numbers 1655 and 2057, each having etched sides with hand-painted decorations, ceramic inset lids, and metal thumbrests, 1/2 liter size, comprising one polychrome example depicting a group of young dancers and one featuring a line of dancing peasants including one playing bagpipes. Marks to underside include impressed abbey with "METTLACH / VB", "GEGEN NACHBILDUNG / GESCHUTZT", and additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century. 9 1/8" HOA.
