GERMAN METTLACH COLONIAL MEN CERAMIC STEIN, mold number 2752, having etched sides with polychrome hand-painted decorations featuring scene depicting two sitting gentlemen wearing tricorne hats, one smoking a pipe and one holding a wine glass, signed "H. Schlitt", ceramic inset metal lid featuring a wine glass surrounded by scrolled design and stylized face thumbrest, 1/2 liter size. Impressed abbey with "METTLACH / VB" and "GES.SCH." marks to base with additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century. 9" HOA.
