GERMAN METTLACH BLACK FOREST CERAMIC STEIN, mold number 3144, having etched sides with polychrome hand-painted decorations featuring a cuckoo clock with "SCHWARZ WALD", flanked by two couples, signed "F. Qui= / denus." ceramic inset metal lid featuring a bird perched to a branch and flame thumbrest, 1 liter size. Impressed abbey mark with "METTLACH / VB" and "GES.G.SCH." marks to base with additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century. 9 7/8" HOA.
