GERMAN METTLACH BAVARIAN MOTIF CERAMIC STEIN, mold number 3142, having etched sides with polychrome hand-painted decorations featuring a frothing stein with "OBER-BAYERN" above and shield below, flanked by a man and woman dancer in traditional dress, signed "FRITZ / QUIDE", ceramic inset metal lid featuring the Munich Child and flaming torch thumbrest, 1 liter size. Impressed "METTLACH / VB" and "GES.GESCH." marks to base with additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century. 10 1/4" HOA.
