GERMAN METTLACH MUNICH CHILD CERAMIC STEIN, mold number 2767, having etched sides with polychrome hand-painted decorations featuring a hooded child holding a mallet and standing beside a keg, ceramic inset lid depicting a lion with shield, and figural lion rampant thumbrest, 1/2 liter size. Impressed abbey with "METTLACH / VB" and "GEGEN NACHBILDUNG / GESCHUTZ." marks to base, additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century. 9 3/4" HOA.
