GERMAN METTLACH SINGING AND DRINKING MOTIF CERAMIC STEINS, LOT OF TWO, mold numbers 1527 and 2532, each having etched sides with polychrome hand-painted decorations, ceramic inset lids, and metal thumbrests, 1/2 liter size, comprising one featuring four men drinking and one playing a lyre, and one depicting an enthused dinner party with a chained drinking monkey, signed "F. Quidenus." Marks to underside include impressed abbey with "METTLACH / VB", "GESCHUTZT", and "GES. GESCH.", additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century. 9 1/8" HOA.
