GILLINDER LION CENTENNIAL PAPERWEIGHTS, LOT OF TWO, comprising a recumbent lion on pedestal base, and a lion head. Recumbent example with "GILLINDER & SONS / CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION" embossed to base. Gillinder & Sons, Philadelphia PA. Fourth quarter 19th century. 5 1/2" LOA.
Both very good condition with occasional flakes to high points of fur detail; recumbent with a minute flake to underside of base and a wider shallow bruise with no glass missing, and smaller lion with frosted-over chipping to claws. Recumbent example with several surface annealing lines to underside, as-made.
