GRETSCH ORCHESTRELLA TENOR BANJO, serial number 1779, cast-metal rim with mahogany resonator having printed floral motif to back, mahogany neck and pearloid fretboard with inlaid fret markers, pearloid-front headstock with carved and gilt-painted "ORCHESTRELLA" logo, ivoroid tuning pegs. Together with a period hardshell case. The Fred Gretsch Mfg. Co., Brooklyn, NY. Circa 1930. 33 1/2" LOA, 13" DOA.

Condition

Good to very good overall condition with some wear and surface scratches, old finish with crazing and discoloration, cast-metal with losses to finish; case with damage and imperfections, lid currently detached from base.
