H.C. SMITH ATTRIBUTED, ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one half-gallon capacity, globular form with rounded rim, incised shoulder ring, pronounced foot. Brushed cobalt wavy line to shoulder. Possibly made for Hugh Charles Smith (1804-1854) at the Wilkes Street Pottery, Alexandria, VA. 1831-1847. 8 1/4" H, 6" D rim.
