STENCILED "H.P. CO. / HAWTHORN, PA." PENNSYLVANIA STONEWARE CROCK, Bristol-slip glazed, designated three-gallon capacity, wide-mouth cylindrical form with rounded rim, double-incised shoulder rings, applied arched tab handles, Albany-slip glazed interior. Additional stenciled cobalt "3" capacity mark. Together with a rustic wood two-piece gavel. Two pieces total. Hawthorn Pottery, Clarion County, PA. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. 9 1/4" H, 11 1/8" D rim.
