STAMPED "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD. N.Y." DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "6" gallon capacity mark, cylindrical wide-mouth form with flat-top rounded rim, applied arched handles, Albany-slip glazed interior. Slip-trailed cobalt three-part leaf decoration to front, additional cobalt to stamp. Circa 1875. 13 1/4" H, 13 5/8" D rim.
Condition
Excellent, mostly undamaged condition, except having a shallow rim chip to back. Manufacturing flaws including glazed over firing separation/hairline to rim, as made.
