JEAN HYACINTHE LACLOTTE (FRENCH, 1765-1828) BATTLE OF NEW ORLEANS PANORAMA PRINT, aquatint, Defeat of the British Army, 12,000 strong, under the Command of Sir Edward Packenham, in the attack of the American Lines defended by 3,600 Militia commanded by Major General Andrew Jackson January 8th, 1815, on Chalmette plain, five miles below New Orleans, on the left bank of the Mississippi. Drawn on the Field of Battle and painted by H'the Lacotte arch't and assis't Engineer in the Louisiana Army, the Year 1815. engraved by Philibert-Louis Debucourt (French, 1755-1832). Housed in a modern frame with eglomise-painted glass. 1817. 11 3/4" x 25 1/2" sight, 17" x 30" OA. 

Condition

Poor condition with significant losses, upper left corner and spot at top edge replaced, creases, tears, and grime.
