LEBANON CO., PENNSYLVANIA SIGNED AND DATED JACQUARD COVERLET, light green, rust red, and navy blue wool, and light blue and natural cotton, two joined panels, center featuring repeated rose and star design, three sides with spread-wing eagle and tree border, three edges with fringe. Bottom corners signed "JACOB / SHALK / 1834" with owner's initials of "M . S". Jacob Shalk, Lebanon Twp., Lebanon Co., PA. Dated 1834. 83" x 95" with fringe.

Condition

Very good overall condition with light toning notably along edges and center seam, some scattered stains and spotting including a sizable stain near the center of one panel, top edge rolled and mended, center seam with mending, some small losses to wool, heavy losses to fringe on two sides.
