MANHATTAN BRASS CO. SINGLE GRIFFIN KEROSENE STUDENT LAMP, acorn-form font vase with applied torch decoration, with connected cast-brass griffin with tail to the font and mouth toward the burner, all fitted on an adjustable central pole and supported by a raised square base with claw feet. Fitted with a period duplex burner. Electrified. Manhattan Brass Co. Fourth quarter 19th century. 20 3/4" HOA, 13 1/2" WOA, 7 1/2" SQ base.

Condition

Excellent condition overall with imperfections created by the electrification process including soldering to the burner gallery and light socket, drill hole hidden behind one of the griffin's wings.
