MID-ATLANTIC DECORATED STONEWARE CHURN, salt-glazed, "4" (reversed) gallon capacity mark, cylindrical form with deep galleried rim and inner seat, quadruple incised shoulder rings, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt floral designs with feathered leafy stems to each side including double-bloom to front and triple-bloom to reverse, additional cobalt to handle terminals. Circa 1875. 16 1/2" H, 7 7/8" D rim.

Having a T-shaped hairline extending just above base, otherwise undamaged.
