MID-ATLANTIC KENTUCKY-STYLE LONG RIFLE, approximately .45 caliber, percussion, tiger maple fullstock with old surface, brass end cap and buttplate, four-piece engraved brass patchbox, carved cheekrest with inlaid German silver oval, additional German silver and brass geometric inlay including crescents, rifled octagonal barrel signed with script "J+M" initials to top, double set trigger, lockplate marked "LONDON / WARRANTED" with engraved decoration, period ramrod. First half 19th century. 54" LOA, 38 5/8" L barrel.
Very good overall condition with expected usage wear, stock with a short crack and a loss at barrel tang, possible small loss at end of forestock, one inlaid crescent possibly replaced.
