MID-ATLANTIC NINE PATCH PIECED CRIB QUILT, machine-stitched, in white print and solid blue fabrics, having 12 nine patch blocks with grid sashing to form an "Irish Chain" pattern, single border having corner blocks, all-over diagonal grid quilting, either applied or back-over-front binding, unknown backing. Housed under UV glass in a modern frame. Circa 1890. 32" x 24" object, 36 1/4" x 28 1/4" OA.
Provenance: From an Albemarle Co., VA collection.
Good to very good visual condition, top with toning, a few stains and spotting, blue fabric with some fading, frame with minor wear. Not examined out of frame, backing in unknown condition.
