NEW ENGLAND PAINT-DECORATED KNIFE / CUTLERY BOX, an outstanding example of nailed construction with canted sides and two compartments with shaped divider having cut-out for handle. Retains its original painted surface, featuring polychrome bird designs to all four sides against a mustard yellow ground. Second quarter 19th century. 4 1/2" HOA, 14" WOA, 9 1/2" DOA.
Condition
Excellent overall condition with very minor wear and discoloration.
