NORTH CAROLINA PUNCHED-TIN-PANELED WALNUT FOOD / PIE SAFE, the two-board top over two short drawers above two hinged cabinet doors, each set with three tin panels exhibiting a Confederate St. Andrew's Cross flag pattern, all flanked by fielded-panel ends and raised on square-tapered feet issuing from the stiles, backboard bears Mt. Airy, North Carolina manufacturer's stenciled mark. Yellow pine secondary wood. Retaining original hinges, turned wooden knobs, and an early surface. Circa 1880. 50" H, 40" x 17" top.

Condition

Very good overall condition with scattered minor wear, cracks, and discoloration, slightly heavier to top. Minor losses to feet. Three tins with minor repairs at lower edges.
