COWDEN, / HARRISBURG PA" jar, approximately half-gallon capacity, semi-ovoid form with flat-top rim, and three jugs with applied strap handles including a salt-glazed ovoid-form example, approximately one gallon capacity, a brown-glazed stamped "J.B. CAIRE & CO / PO'KEEPSIE N Y" example of squat semi-ovoid form, and a dark Albany-slip glazed beehive form example. 19th century. Jar 6 1/4" H, 6" D rim, jugs 12 1/4" HOA.
Two jugs undamaged; Cowden jar having two rim chips; salt-glazed jug having a chip to mouth, glaze wear to handle, and some mostly minor flakes to base edge.
