OHIO ATTRIBUTED STAR PATTERN PIECED QUILT TOPS, LOT OF TWO,
hand-stitched, comprising one "Ohio Star" with 41 on-point pattern blocks in various print fabrics, diagonal double-pink print fabric sashing, possibly later applied border to all four sides with machine stitching; and an "Eight-Pointed Star" with 42 pattern blocks in various print and solid white fabrics, grid cadet blue print fabric sashing.
Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century.
"Ohio Star" 81" x 81"; "Eight-Pointed Star" 69" x 79".
Provenance: Property from a Youngstown, OH estate.
"Ohio Star" in good to very good overall condition with some scattered stains and small holes, several spots of separation at seams, a few fabrics with fading, border fabric with frayed outer edge; "Eight-Pointed Star" in good to very good overall condition with some scattered stains and holes, a few spots of separation at seams, cadet blue fabric with fading.
