PAGE / ROCKINGHAM CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA STAVE-TYPE WOVEN-SPLINT BASKETS, LOT OF TWO, white oak, each featuring double-wrapped rim, arched handle, and kick-up bottom. Original dry natural surfaces. Likely by one of the Nichols family of basketmakers, Page Co., VA. Late 19th/early 20th century. 7 1/4" and 11" HOA.
Provenance: From the John H. and Joan S. Byrd estate collection, Harrisonburg, VA.
Very good overall condition, largest example with scattered old breaks with associated minor losses, each with expected minor usage wear.
