VALLEY OF / SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA STAVE-TYPE WOVEN-SPLINT BASKETS, LOT OF THREE, white oak, two examples with wrapped rims, each with arched handles, including oblong and miniature forms. Oblong example with an old varnished surface. Late 19th/early 20th century. Oblong 9 3/4" HOA, 6" H rim, 15 1/2" W rim.
Provenance: Two examples discovered in Montgomery Co., Virginia.
Very good overall condition, two examples with old breaks with associated very minor losses, each with areas of expected minor wear.
