PAINT DECORATED SHEET-IRON ARGAND / CARDAN WALL SCONCE LAMPS, PAIR, original green enamel paint with stylized black enamel decoration, removable oblong-form back with wall-mount hanger, interior fitted with a removable reservoir and topped with a ring handle, back is fitted with arm which supports a tubular-form burner and brass wick-riser mechanism, contoured base with built-in reservoir support, front of reservoir with sleeves for supporting a large reflecting shield, top of shield with an opening for a chimney over a strap-ring handle. Each fitted with a colorless chimney. 19th century. 12" H to top of shield, 7" x 13 3/4" overall.

Condition
Very good overall condition with expected wear, less than expected scattered losses to paint decoration, roughness/denting and minute losses to edge of burner support, several scattered small repairs including to one shield strap ring, one shield with old repainting. One wick riser frozen. One chimney with roughness to the top, otherwise each undamaged.
