PATENTED CHARLES SPENCER BRASS ADJUSTABLE LOG-FORM STUDENT LAMP, off-set to the edge of foot octagonal-form shaft supporting a log-form font, circular and stepped edge foot impressed "OCT 28 79", brass collar. Non-period umbrella-form swirled ribbed pattern opaque white shade with burgundy paint. Fitted with a Plume & Atwood Victor burner, colorless non-period slip chimney. Fourth quarter 19th century. 11 1/4" H to top of shaft finial, 5 1/4" D foot.
Provenance: From the Bill and Carol Lindow collection, Shaker Heights, OH.
Good overall condition, expected wear and some scattered denting, underside of base and log shaft connection each with drilled holes for electrifying. Shade undamaged and with minor wear to decoration. Burner and shade ring with some minor repairs, chimney undamaged.
