PIEDMONT NORTH CAROLINA PAINTED YELLOW PINE BLANKET CHEST, rectangular lid fitted with applied edge molding over a dovetailed case, applied waist molding below with two short thumb-molded drawers, the whole raised on an applied cut-out bracket-foot base exhibiting spurred profile. Retains an early, possibly original, red-painted surface. Possibly Catawba Valley, NC. Late 18th/early 19th century. 31" H, 50" W, 22" D.

Condition
Very good overall condition with areas of minor wear and discoloration. Brasses are probably replaced in original drillings. One spur to foot detached but present.
