PIERCED AND PUNCHED SHEET-IRON CANDLE LANTERN, hexagonal form with five colorless glass panes, including one with hinges for the door, interior fitted with a stationary single-socket candle holder, strap handle with additional strap for thumb support, top cap of three-tiered construction with each tier having a cut-out diamond between two double-rows of dots, base with additional double rows of dot piercings, each corner panel with a ball-form finial to the top and base. Retains old black painted surface. 19th century. 14 1/2" HOA, 10 1/2" DOA.

Very good overall condition with expected usage wear, socket with a separation and a central drilled hole in bottom, several scattered repairs to junctures including pane frames and tiered cap, along with some repainting.
