PILLAR-MOLDED COVERED COMPOTE, colorless, hemispherical bowl with eight pronounced ribs and heavy tooled rim, raised on an applied solid stem and thick circular foot with a rough pontil mark, conforming cover with applied spool-like finial topped by a polished pontil mark. Pittsburgh area. 1850-1870. 11 1/2" HOA, 7 7/8" D rim, 6" D foot.

Very good condition overall with the base having moderate overall wear. Base having a moderate to sizeable burst bubble to the tip of one rib, as made.
