POSSIBLY PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA COIN SILVER FOUR-PIECE COFFEE AND TEA SERVICE, (updated 11/8/22) comprising a coffee pot, a teapot, a creamer, and a sugar lacking cover, each having a spherical well with die-rolled rims and shoulders, engraved "GEG" monogram, and one or two scrolled handles with foliate elements and animal terminals, raised on a square base with round stem and four winged figural feet, pots with hinged lids topped by figural bird finials and wooden insulators to handles, sugar with ram heads at terminals of handles. Each with unidentified marks of "W & B" or "W B" to base, possibly for Whartenby & Bumm, the partnership between Thomas Whartenby and Peter Bumm of Philadelphia, PA (active 1816-1818), probably coin silver but unconfirmed. Total weight: 91.30 ozt. 19th century. Coffee pot 10 1/2" HOA.

Condition

Good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including dents, nicks, and minor worn spots to raised decoration, pots with cracks to insulators, coffee pot with losses to insulators, most or all pieces with one or more repairs including coffee pot having repair to rim and possibly to end of spout, teapot with repair to end of spout and potentially to side of well, creamer having repairs to terminals of handles and to base, and sugar with possible repair to one foot.
