R. JOHNSON U.S. MODEL 1836 CONTRACT FLINTLOCK PISTOL, .54 caliber smoothbore, lockplate marked "US. / R. JOHNSON / MIDDN CONN / 1840", round barrel marked "US / JCB / P", worn inspector's markings in ovoid cartouches on left side of walnut stock, swivel-type steel ramrod. Robert Johnson, Middletown, CT. 1840. 8 1/2" L barrel, 13 3/4" LOA.
Condition
Good overall condition with expected usage wear, some areas and spots of rusting, some pitting to barrel, stock with a short crack bordering lockplate and some marring, replaced hammer and hammer screw.
