R. JOHNSON U.S. MODEL 1836 CONTRACT FLINTLOCK PISTOL, .54 caliber smoothbore, lockplate marked "US. / R. JOHNSON / MIDDN CONN / 1843", round barrel marked "JH / P", inspector's markings in ovoid cartouches on left side of walnut stock of "JH" and "W.A.T", swivel-type steel ramrod. Robert Johnson, Middletown, CT. 1843. 8 1/2" L barrel, 13 3/4" LOA.
Condition
Good to very good overall condition with areas of expected usage wear, minor areas of rusting and pitting, stock with a short crack to left side bordering barrel.
