ROCKINGHAM CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA, POPLAR PUNCHED-TIN-PANELED FOOD / PIE SAFE, the tall form with two short drawers and paneled ends exhibiting "turkey-breast" profile, over two hinged cabinet doors concealing two shelves, all flanked by applied half columns, raised on tall turned feet, twelve finely punched tins, each featuring an elliptical device within a foliate garland flanked by corner fans. Poplar secondary wood. Mid 19th century. 60" H, 42 1/2" x 21" top.

Condition

Good overall visual condition with significant repairs to doors. Hinges replaced. Lacking two knobs. Tins with minor wear and denting. Case with moderate scattered wear and discoloration. Portion of bottom board restored.
