ROCKINGHAM CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA STONEWARE ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, comprising an Emanuel Suter attributed approximately one-gallon capacity ovoid-form canner/preserve jar, and a Joseph Silber attributed "1" gallon capacity mark jar, cylindrical form with slight shoulder and flat-top rim. Emanuel Suter (1833-1902), New Erection Pottery (1866-1890), west of Harrisonburg, VA; Joseph Silber, Rawley Springs area, Rockingham Co., VA. Second half 19th century. Jar 8 3/4" H, 6 3/4" D rim; canner 10 3/8" H.

Condition

Canner undamaged; jar with chip to rim. Manufacturing flaws including canner with firing separation to underside.
