RUDOLPH TSCHUDI (SWISS-AMERICAN, 1855-1923) STILL-LIFE WITH APPLES, oil on Academy Board, signed lower right, retains period printed Cincinnati, Ohio art supply merchant label verso (along with facsimile). Housed in an old gilt frame. Fourth quarter 19th century. 8 1/4" x 11 3/8" sight, 12" x 15" OA.
Catalogue Note: Very little information is available on Rudolph Tschudi (1855-1921). Born in Switzerland, it appears that he immigrated to the United States in the early 1870s, where he settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1874 he received a prize for an entry at the Ohio Mechanics Institute, and in 1904 he medaled at the St. Louis World's Fair / Louisiana Purchase Exposition. 

Condition

Very good overall visual condition with minor scattered inpainting. Frame with minor wear.
