SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA FEDERAL WALNUT CORNER CUPBOARD, two-piece construction with canted returns, the upper case with applied cove-molded cornice over two eight-light doors concealing three fixed shaped shelves, old varnished interior, lower case with two dovetailed waist drawers between applied reeded moldings, over two double fielded-panel doors concealing one fixed shelf, raised on cut-out bracket feet centering a distinctive cut-out skirt. Original brass knobs, brass hinges, and glass panes. Yellow pine and poplar secondary woods. Retains an early, possibly original dry surface with warm color. Probably Rockingham or Shenandoah Co., VA. Circa 1820. 95" H, 52" W, 31" corner.

Excellent original condition, loss of upper half of one return molding at waist, lower doors lacking brass knob and with later latch added, one pane with corner crack, surface with minor wear.
